Every candle begins with an intention, a prayer for stillness, for presence, for return to self. Crafted by Anna Karhu-Cormier, an herbalist rooted in the ancient traditions of Finnish medicinal plants, our candles are a tribute to the rhythm of nature.

The plants and flowers are hand-picked locally at the end of their natural cycle, then dried in a slow, mindful rhythm that honors the earth. In her atelier, Anna crafts the organic wax herself, infusing it with her own organic essential oils of lavender and black spruce, a botanical fragrance that grounds and calms the nervous system.

No two candles are identical, form, color, and texture shift with each harvest, making every piece a unique work of art made for you. Soulful and sculptural, held in the palm of your hands or lit on the table, our ritual candle invites a moment of pause from the pace of everyday life.

Anna Karhu-Cormier is a multidisciplinary artist and botanist based in Finland. Her practice explores the sensory and poetic relationships between humans and plant life through scent and visual art. Working with plants that have long histories in traditional healing practices, she engages with the material and symbolic qualities of the Finnish natural environment.

Use: Our Ritual Candles invite you to be present with them, held in your palm as you take a moment to send a prayer or blessing. Can be placed on a table for intentional dinners.
We recommend resting your candles on a solid surface rather than letting them stand on their own. The base of each candle is an actual flower, extending down to the stem where the wick is frozen in wax.
The Ritual Candles will be shipped within 2–4 business days from the time of your order. Once dispatched, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking details so you can follow your piece on its journey to your home.

Return: Each piece is handcrafted with deep intention and delicate care. We invite you to set your intentions before purchasing. These are fragile works of art, and the journey of transit can sometimes cause damage.

Our Ritual candles are a full manifestation of artist Anna Karhu-Cormier. This gentle, slow, intentional process begins with what rises from within and around Anna. As an herbalist, a true plant fairy, she learns, connects, and communicates with the plants in her surroundings. She allows what grows around her to become the intentional seed for what will take form in these candles when they reach the end of their natural cycle. In doing so, she transforms them into deeply intentional ritual candles invited into homes to live a second life of their own.

Each seasonal batch is created towards the end of the cycle. Hand-picked and dried. Then begins the waxing process, a slow and tender union. Essential oils and beeswax are added, binding plant memory with wax until they become inseparable. This new shape is born while still cherishing the past life the plants once had. This sweet labour of creation takes up to six months, and each candle carries its own unique beauty.
