Louise Sommerlatte is the designer, dreamer and the partner behind the creation of our exclusive whimsical cushions collection that is blending artistic whimsy with energetic purpose. She runs her artisanal label called Hamaji Studio tucked away in the beautiful coastal region of Kenya that carries rich history and heritage which also hapens to be the inspiration behind her work.

Design features: Born from up-cycled velvet, embroidered by hand, each cushion tells its own story. Subtle variations in texture and tone are not imperfections, but the signature of the material's journey.
Each cushion is crafted from upcycled vintage velvet and should be handled with care. Dry clean only; for light dusting, use a soft brush or vacuum attachment. Avoid direct sunlight, moisture, and abrasive cleaners to preserve the fabric's unique character and patina.
This cushion will be shipped within 2–4 business days from the time of your order. Once dispatched, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking details so you can follow your piece on its journey to your home.

Our first design from upcycled and limited-edition cushions created in collaboration with Louise Sommerlatte. Our partnership was sparked by a shared appreciation for symbolism and the celestial, and this piece beautifully translates that connection into cushions.

The creative process is intentionally slow. We source rare velvet from local markets, which is then upcycled, embroidered, and stitched by the hands of skilled artisans. It's a delicate, human-centred craft that transforms found materials into heirloom-worthy cushions, beautiful and rich in meaning.
